Job Summary
An employee working with the title of Software Applications Engineer at an international technology company such as HP Inc will be required to design, test and implement software applications that include those for use on the desktop, over the web and for mobile devices. Your duties will entail finding the areas to optimize the application and make it more scalable as per the user requirements so as to be in a position to deliver user-friendly and efficient applications.
Key Responsibilities
1. Software Development: Write and deploy software solutions for the purpose of software development utilizing specified programming languages and technologies.
2. Coding Standards: It is important to write good quality code that is understandable to maintain, easily scalable and bug-free and written in the best standards.
3. Enhancements and Updates: Accommodation of numerous features to the known code and program in order to develop alterations on the different end-user applications based on particular needs.
4. Testing and Debugging: Testing and debugging are other activities to be performed in this phase with the aim of uncovering any software weaknesses in order to come up with quality software products.
5. Version Control: Version controlling of the resources should be used on code repositories and while sharing resources with other developers.
6. Technical Documentation: Document the work done, create design specifications and documentation, comment code, and provide guidelines, and manuals to the users for easy comprehension in future.
7. Collaboration: Coordinate with the engineering, sales and customer services departments to work on software development projects.
8. Innovation: Assist internal and external software products and develop concepts on the development of software in the market.
9. Partnerships: Analyze potential and established connection with internal and outsourced development partners for software applications’ design and development.
10. Team Participation: Construction of reliable low to moderate solutions applicable in a project team for highly economized solutions for low to moderately complex products.
Education & Experience
Degree: Computer science, Information systems or any other related field of study with a Bachelors degree, or its equivalent with adequate experience.
Experience: Usually has little prior work experience, which ranges from entry level to possessing up to two years of applications engineering/programming/related experience.
Preferred Certifications
Programs in the Java, C++, Python, JavaScript, or similar certification in programming languages shall be completed.
